Summer Camp & Summer Programs 2026

Since 2018, The Children's Foundation along with the generous support of many donors (including our Campership founding donors, the Rizzuto Family, through the Toni Lynn Campership Fund), have been sending kids to local day and residential camps as well as a variety of summer programs in town.

The benefits for children are many - here are some:

  • develop lifelong and personal skills
  • foster independence
  • enjoy time in the out of doors and in natural environments
  • build social skills and friendships
  • have fun!

Here's How To Apply

1. Look at the list of camps below and learn more about them by visiting their websites to find the right match for your child's interests and needs. This list is not exclusive - if you've found one that is not on the list, that's great too!

2. Make note that our grant subsidy only covers up to $500 for a week of day camp or a summer program. Or, it will cover up to $1,500 for a session of residential camp (which is an increase of $500 from last year!).  We can only cover 1 week or 1 session of camp per child. The CFM has decided not to charge an administrative fee this year - you are only responsible for any amount over a $500 day camp /summer program fee or  $1,500 residential camp fee.

3. Fill out our quick and easy online application by clicking on the link below. Be sure you have a professional reference lined up in advance (teacher, doctor, social worker, etc.) - please do not use yourself as a reference. We will get back to you within 2 to 3 business days with a response.

4. Following approval from us, your job is to contact the camp or summer program provider you have selected and register your child/children for their week or session of camp or program.  The CFM does not do this. At the conclusion of the program or camp, the provider will invoice us for payment

5. Finally, a couple of things: please check to see if the fee of the summer program exceeds our grant (phone the camp if you aren't sure).  If it does, that extra cost will be the responsibility of the family (please note that many camps have offered additional discounts for our families - please inquire directly with them). Also, our grant does not cover tuck shop fees.

6. We know life happens and plans can change, if you receive approval for camp and your child isn't going to use it, please let us know as soon as possible so we can give that spot to another child!

If you need help with a camp selection or the application process, please contact our Executive Director, Dave Lyons, at dlyons.cfm@gmail.com.

Family Testimonials

"As a single mom, running my own business, the likelihood of being able to afford an overnight camp for my boys to experience was not high. Having experienced the joy of overnight camp, making lifelong memories and friendships myself, I was really disappointed that I wouldn't be able to give them the same opportunities I had. After one of my friends suggested I apply for this grant I was so excited that this could be a reality. Through the Children's Foundation of Muskoka, I was able to send both of my boys to overnight camp together this past summer. They made so many memories, friendships and had an incredible experience. I am forever grateful for this program. It has had a huge impact on our lives and we are so thankful. THANK YOU FOR SENDING MY KIDS TO CAMP!!!!"

"Both of my boys have had the opportunity to attend Camp Mini-Yo-We the last two summers; they talk about that one week of summer all year long!"
